Magister® SC Miticide is a flowable formulation containing the active ingredient Fenazaquin, in the chemical class Quinazoline. Active against rust and bud mites, spider mites, and pear psylla in a broad range of crops. MAGISTER SC provides control of eggs by contact and controls immature and adult mites by both contact and ingestion.

Additionally, Magister SC has fungicidal properties demonstrating excellent and reliable control of powdery mildew  in registered crops, when used as a part of a complete integrated pest management program.

MAGISTER SC is a METI (mitochondrial electron transport inhibitor) classified as IRAC Group 21A, FRAC Group 39.

APPLICATION TIMING

A Magister^® SC application should be timed to coincide with the first sign of mites, prior to exponential population growth in the mite population. Performance evaluations should be made as soon as possible but no later than 10 days post application.

BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR APPLICATION

Due to the contact nature of Magister SC, coverage and mite contact is crucial. To ensure optimum coverage of all plant parts, Magister SC should be applied only through correctly calibrated ground application equipment. Coverage is a function of speed and volume, so speed of the sprayer through the application area should not exceed 2.4 km/hr (1.5 mph) when applying in 500 L/ha of water or less. Under conditions of higher mite pressure, a greater spray volume is recommended. Complete coverage of all plant parts is required for optimum performance. Addition of a spreader/sticker non-ionic surfactant at a concentration of 0.25% v/v, may improve performance.

TANK MIXING

• Magister SC is compatible with a number of crop protection products.

• Under heavy pressure apply with an ovicide, or additional MOA miticide.
